About This Project
LM Heavy Civil Construction, LLC (LMH) was called upon to deliver this challenging, $7 million site work project to prepare for the construction of a mixed-use, high-rise development, directly adjacent to Boston's busy South Station. The site/foundation work included 24,000 cubic yards of excavation and the design/ installation of extensive (SOE) steel sheeting, 50 feet deep, SKZ20, using 2-level internal bracing walers (36" diameter beams) and pipe struts (also 36" diameter). The work also included furnishing and installing 187 driven steel H-piles, 85 lineal feet each, 14x102 type, for a total of 16,000 lineal feet; 44 precast concrete piles, 14" square, 80 lineal feet each, for a 3,500 lineal foot total. There was also excavation and disposal of 3,300 cubic yard of asbestos (open remediation); site improvements; utilities; paving; and concrete work
