About This Project
LM Heavy Civil Construction, LLC (LMH) and Joint Venture Parter Cooperativa Muratori & Cementisti - Cmc Di Ravenna Società (LMH's ultimate parent company) are currently delivering this important $6.3 million project, for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), Contract S03CN03. The project involves construction of a new intermodal transportation center at 45 Shipyard Drive in Hingham, MA, designed based on LEED Silver strategies. The Intermodal Center will replace the outdated commuter boat offices and ticket sales functions which are currently at the DCR's adjacent existing building 45. It will also provide new office space for the MBTA and other agencies. With a total area of approximately 8,400 square feet the new facility is divided between a 2-story, energy-efficient glazed public concourse to the East, and private offices for public agencies to the West, clad in metal "sandwich" panels to act a barriers to wind-driven rain, UV radiation, and salt water conditions. The project also features site improvements and utility work, including installation of a geothermal System.
